BC ELN has been working closely with SFU IT to restore all Illume (SHAREit) services and mitigate the impact of the DDOS attacks against Simon Fraser University!
SFU IT implemented additional solutions last week that we've been testing, and so far it appears that connectivity to the SHAREit server has improved and there haven't been any further reports of extended outages from external traffic overloading their network.
It is recommended that Illume libraries currently pause all Illume (SHAREit) interlibrary loan services for the remainder of this week until Monday March 16th, in order to allow BC ELN and SFU IT to coordinate further troubleshooting of the network outages.
The Illume (SHAREit) software was successfully updated the evening of Wednesday February 18th, 2026 by the vendor Auto-Graphics including bug fixes and enhancement/improvement requests!
